Varian
Female 3 Years Old Admitted January 2014 Set To Release - N/A Canine - Mutt Designed by horselover072 Adopted from SCAA |
Varian is simply a young female canine. She was admitted to the hospital recently - a couple months before her third birthday. It seems something strange has been going on with her. For this reason, we've decided a report needs to be done. So here we go. Patient Varian communicated strangely. Her sentences were plain odd, weird structure and weird phrasings. She would also howl crazy nonsense or growl things. Since she came here, strange things happen to her caretakers. Small things but enough to disorient them. Like having the food or toy they are to take to Patient Varian replaced with something else. Her own introduction (INTRODUCTION_006) is written, as recorded, at the bottom of the page with other incidents that struck us as weird.

Care Procedure
Housing for Patient Varian is standard, a room with all the necessities. Her food bowl is to be filled always. She eats with her belt on - it is to stay on at all times. The only exception to this rule is if something else strong is used to hold her mouth closed. It is not suggested that anyone try to do this. Only higher officials will be allowed to attempt removing the belt, and there may be only said higher officials in the room the entire time it's off. Behavior during this period has only been examined when she was first admitted, a time when she was simply socially awkward. We don't know what would happen if we allowed it to continue, as restraints were brought in as soon as we noticed threatening behavior. But we cannot let fear get in the way of our normal treatments. Because Patient Varian is canine, she requires washing and trimming. Staff is to be wary when grooming. It's been reported tools will change position as one goes to grab them, causing simple but harmful injuries. As mentioned before, her belt should never be taken off unless her face is secured by other means. It's suggested to just work around it. However, it must be moved in position at least a bit to prevent it from digging into her muzzle. She hardly reacts to staff during grooming save the items moving. Before beginning, her fur must be brushed. It is then to be trimmed, but the hair on her head must remain. She growls if the scissors are too near to it for her comfort. Her hair is simply to be brushed and shampooed. Normal fur will be well-kept, but allowed to be long since she seems to prefer it this way.
Description (Appearance & Behavior)
Patient Varian stands at 20 inches from her paw to her shoulder blade. Her weight is 53 pounds, a respectable size. Fur ranges from long to medium, being longest on the tail and shortest on her feet. Her tail is curled naturally and her ears seem to be constantly perked up, like she's listening to something. She seems to have a lot of energy, but unlike normal canines, it's not physical. The energy is expelled by thinking. If staff reports are correct, she can control things with her mind, but some of us have a different idea. We believe she's sold her soul to something beyond. It gives her piece of mind, or did at one point. As such, it gets a payment, and that payment is energy. Patient Varian cries out at times. We assume these are times when whatever she shares her mind with has taken too much energy, causing her brain to panic. It can become extremely painful for a patient. Even after given time to calm, it can still leave a throbbing headache, explaining why she often looks to be suffering. We've listened to her whispering. Though we often can only pick up trace of a tone, it sounds like she's begging many times. Other times she's angry or just plain upset. It's hard to understand exactly what she says, but a few conversations have been recorded (SELF_INTERVIEW). We've also recorded some dialogue with staff, which ranges from hateful messages to requests (STAFF_CONVERSATION). Patient Varian has bipolar tendencies. Further dissection of self_interviews and staff_conversations will have to be reviewed by a specialist.
Behavior (Explored Further)
Patient Varian gets along with different staff members in different ways. It seems to be heavily linked towards that particular person's past and their own personality. Quieter staff are usually accepted well and quickly. Patient Varian seems to be able to tell the personality and history, or at least get a feel for it, after only a few minutes of being around someone. She'll often talk to herself before speaking with staff but she can be rather social towards specific members of staff. She recognizes them in an instant and will stand and walk over to them in an instant of them arriving. Even if they're only in the observation room, she will come up to the glass. It's unsure how she speaks with her belt, but she's able to speak in a mumbled tongue. Some staff can understand the riddles she talks in, and she seems to like them, and others are clueless. Sometimes she prefers the clueless ones. She can confuse them easily and that brings her some sort of joy. That's not saying she's mean though. She must get rather bored. Playing games with humans is often something she sees as proof she's still smart enough to trick them, even if they're holding her captive. In conversations with the staff that understand her, she'll talk as they're most used to. A liked British man will have conversation tailored to topics he would be more informed about. However, a charismatic woman from the south that Patient Varian isn't too fond of will be spoken to about things she cannot begin to wrap her head around. The patient may even try to disgust the staff she's speaking to by using the things they find disturbing. She's good at picking up things from people. At times, Patient Varian is very quiet, but she's formed relationships with some staff members. She appreciates a good talk.
(INTRODUCTION_006)
Interviewed: Varian
Foreword: On the day of arrival, we requested Varian give us an introduction to herself, as we do with all others. She was speaking with [DATA REMOVED], who is not someone Varian would consider friendship with. It's likely she was using the complicated speech pattern she usually does.

[DATA REMOVED]: "Welcome, 006. We would like some information about you, if you will."
006: "I haven't will but I suppose I must." [DATA REMOVED]: "What does everyone call you? A name?" 006: "Crazy. No one calls me much of anything." [mumbling follows] [DATA REMOVED]: "Surely you've got a name." 006: "I have one." [DATA REMOVED]: "And what is it?" 006: "Varian." [DATA REMOVED]: "That's a beautiful name, Varian." 006: "The beauty of a name is irrelevant is the beauty is not reflective." [DATA REMOVED]: "Err, right. How old are you?" 006: "I'm almost undivided." [upon reviewing, we found 3 is a number that can't be divided by anything. she was almost three years old] [DATA REMOVED]: "Undivided?" 006: "Almost." [DATA REMOVED]: "And why are you here?" 006: "I know why I'm here, and I'm ashamed. You will soon know. You're reason for me being here is being quiet." [DATA REMOVED]: "Does our reason differ from your reason?" 006: "Silence is our friend. We work quietly. So, no... but yes." [DATA REMOVED]: "Silence is our friend?" 006: "Not your friend. You don't deserve silence as a friend." [a warning rather than insult] [DATA REMOVED]: "Then why do you? What have you that I don't?" 006: "I'm bad, and that deserves me silence as a friend." [DATA REMOVED]: "Surely you're not bad." [006 said nothing more from here. she simply sat and stared at [DATA REMOVED]] [DATA REMOVED]: "It's been good talking to you, Varian." |
